Aged for 18 months in 100% French oak barrels, with 55% being new, this 100% Merlot comes from half the Boushey Vineyard and the rest Dubrui and Harrison from the Yakima Valley in Washington. It’s aged for 18 months in 55% new French oak. Aspects of black cherry, red currant, tomato leaf, smokey herbs, white pepper, and tilled earth pop in the glass. It really is a fantastic wine to sit with for a long period of time and watch how it evolves in the glass. The mouthfeel is fantastic - it’s smooth and delicate but also fruit and earth-driven at the same time. One of the better Le Colosse I’ve had in recent memory.
