A 100% Syrah that comes from the Red Willow Vineyard that spends 16 months in 60% new French oak. A bit richer on the nose than some of the other Betz Syrahs with aromas of blackberry, black currant, ground black pepper, smokey beef brisket and some green olive. It’s decadent on the palate with gobs of black and blue fruit, high acidity and high tannins. This is a wine that needs another 3 years or so in bottle to come together, or give it an overnight decant before drinking. Highly recommended.
