This Pinot Noir from Gavin Chanin comes from the Durarita Vineyard in Santa Barbara county. Located just 6 miles from the coast, it is one of the closet vineyards to the Pacific Ocean in the county. It has lovely aromas of fresh red berries, dried spice, black peppercorn and spring flowers all on display. It possesses a medium body with fine tannins with lots of red fruits and exotic spices resonating on the palate. This needs another year or so in bottle to flesh out and can be enjoyed over the next decade. (Best 2017-2027) - May, 2016 (MD)
