The 2013 ‘Reserve’ bottling by Columbia Crest is a barrel selection of the best blocks of Cabernet from this estate. This wine was aged for 25 months in French oak prior to bottling. The wine shows off a dense and brooding color followed by aromatics of sweet dark cherries, crème de cassis, coffee grounds, baking spices and crushed mint which continually bring you back to the glass. The mid-palate shows both elegance and richness, as the wine delivers flavors of black cherries, black olive, crème de cassis, mocha and pipe tobacco which expand through the finish. I expect this wine will age gracefully for more than a decade. (Best 2017-2027) - November, 2017 (OB)
