LA CHANTERELLE Syrah 2013

The 2013 La Chanterelle Syrah is an excellent and balanced effort. Sourced from the Riverbend vineyard, the wine was aged 23 months in oak prior to bottling. Like their Cabernet offering, this needs some time in the decanter to settle. After an hour it unwinds with aromas of black olive, black cherry, and suggestions of wet stone and sage. There are flavors of red cherry, black raspberry, blackberry cobbler, and hints of cassis. Lovely mouthfeel, balance and texture. (Best 2016-2024) - March, 2016 (OB)
