This stunning, golden-hued wine was sourced from the Boushey Vineyard in the Yakima Valley. The Marsanne was hand harvested and then was placed in a stainless steel container prior to pressing. The wine was then aged in once used, lightly toasted French acacia barrels prior to bottling. This Marsanne improves considerably with extended air contact. Following a two hour decant the wine shows honeysuckle, beeswax, bergamot and honeydew melon aromas that all marvelously combine. The texture is absolutely scintillating as this seamless wine glides effortlessy through the mid-palate while showing incredible weight and freshness. Highly novel cinnamon soaked white raisin, brandied cantaloupe, lychee and pineapple flavors give this wine an exotic edge. Fantastic now, this wine will continue to develop beautifully over the next decade. A magnificent effort by the talented Travis Allen, this is quite simply the the finest example of Marsanne I have ever tasted out of Washington.
