The 2014 Dollarhide Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a fantastic showing. It begins with inviting aromatics of freshly crushed black cherries and dark currants which are woven together with mocha, dusty leather, spices, loam and a touch of graphite all taking shape. This impresses with its full-bodied structure, beautifully polished tannins and opulent mouthfeel, which leads in to the long, supple finish. This is an outstanding job by winemaker Michael Scholz, which is already showing extremely well and should have no issues cellaring for a decade or more.
