NICKEL & NICKEL Cabernet Sauvignon, C.C. Ranch 2013

The C.C. Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon from Nickel & Nickel is an absolutely fantastic effort in this outstanding 2013 vintage. C.C. Ranch consists of six Cabernet Sauvignon clones including; 4, 7, 8, 15, 337 and 685, which are planted on 101-14 and 3309C rootstocks which are rooted in well-drained, gravelly loam soils. This 15-Acre vineyard receives a variety of exposures, depending on the block and location. The wine itself instantly opens with seductive aromas of ripe black cherries, sweet cassis woven together with graphite, mocha, sweet spices, sage, pencil shavings and some lightly toasted notes all coming together in the glass. This is full-bodied and beautifully concentrated with layers of dark ripe fruits that expand seamlessly across the palate. It continues to impress with its wonderful plush texture, polished tannins and long supple finish. Overall, the 2013 is a sensational effort which will age gracefully for years to come. This is some of the finest Cabernet ever from C.C. Ranch. (Best 2018-2029) - July, 2016 (JD)
