QUINTESSA Proprietary Red, Rutherford 2010

2013 Top 100 - Rank #28
The 2010 Quintessa is a dense, concentrated and powerful wine that brings aromas and flavors of sweet currant, blueberry, crème de cassis, hazelnut, herbs, cinnamon spices and dusty minerals. The texture is voluptuous with round, polished tannins that burst on palate. This wine continues to evolve with each second in the glass and leaves you with a long mouth-coating finish loaded with sweet dark fruits. Winemaker Charles Thomas and consultant Michel Rolland have done a fantastic job assembling this wine from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Carmenére and you won’t have to wait long to pull the cork, it is already showing fantastic. (Best 2014-2029) - November, 2013 - (JD)
