The 2009 Philip Togni Tanbark Hill is a beautiful display of Spring Mountain fruit. The black cherries, sweet berries, herbs, graphite and violets are some of the notes that leap from the glass. This is well-structured with layers of flavors supported by dusty round tannins ending in a long firm finish. Like most of the wines from Togni, this will require some time to age, although it is already shows signs of greatness. This is an amazing bottling by a legendary producer.
