The scintillating SJ Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon from Aperture is a glorious wine that spent 22 months in about 90% new French oak barrels. Displaying a lovely deep ruby-purple core with a neon purple rim, it expresses itself nicely in the glass with aromas of blackberries, blue plums, cassis, dried purple flowers, and sweet dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is lush, with crunchy tannins and elevated acidity. It’s still a baby and will need a few years to really come alive, but when it does, you will be treated to a near-perfect bottle of Cabernet. A little over 200 cases were crafted. Better in 2026. Highly recommended.
