The 2016 'Family Home' Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from a rocky volcanic plot perched on a knoll top in Oakville, which is the very piece of land where Proprietor Tom Gamble spent his childhood days. The wine itself is simply delicious, as it bursts open with dark and red currants, mocha, pencil shavings, spices, violets and hints of sweet oak nuances. This medium to full-bodied red possesses a lovely polished texture along with notable depth and concentration. It remains well balanced with a wonderful combination of ripe fruit and freshness that continue through the finish. While fantastic now, the Family Home Cabernet should also go on to offer a drinking window that spans over a decade.
