This Pinot Noir comes from three small blocks within the larger Hyde Vineyard. These blocks are planted to new and older Hyde-Calera selections, and include coveted grapes from the "old field". The 2014 is a gorgeous showing, which offers pretty aromas of cherry fruit characters, dried spices, forest floor, black plum along with hints of dark chocolate and citrus zest. On the palate the wine is delicious with lots of bright red fruits, earth, and sour cherry. The finish is soft with a lots of fresh acidity, making it almost impossible to resist. While it is delicious now, it should continue to drink well over the next 5-7 years. (Best 2016-2026) November, 2016 (MD)
