2014 TOP 100 WINES | Rank #11
The La Côte Vineyard is situated on the furthest western edge of the Sta. Rita Hills, rising to an elevation of 700 feet above the Santa Ynez River, only 7 miles from Pacific Ocean. This bright, vibrant and laser focused Pinot Noir is absolutely striking. It opens with seductive aromas of wild berries, spices, smoke, forest floor, dried floral and dusty minerals which come in layers. This possesses remarkable structure, as well as wonderful balance and finesse. This Burgundian-like Pinot Noir can be approachable now with extended air, but ultimately it will demand additional bottle age before reaches its full potential. (Best 2016-2029) - March, 2014 (MD)
