The 2012 'Termanthia' is the flagship wine from Bodega Numanthia and a benchmark wine of the region. Sourced from 120-year-old vines, this majestic red begins with head turning aromatics of crème de cassis, graphite, meat, orange zest and suggestions of milk chocolate all soaring from the glass. Seductive and showing serious weight and concentraton, this also displays excellent tension and structure on the mid-palate. Profound flavors of mocha, crème de cassis, cigar box, black tea, roasted dates and graphite impress as they cascade on the palate. Overall, this is an incredibly compelling wine from Numanthia, that will cellar well over the next two decades and possibly more. That being said, this is an immense wine, and patience will be required before this shows its best stuff. (Best 2020-2035) - October, 2017 (OB)
