Only very so slightly more captivating than the exceptional 2009 'Pleret' is the 2010 edition of this fantastic new release from Buil & Gine. This intriguing blend of Garnacha, Cariñena, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah begins with bright aromas of spicebox, black cherry, and black olive. The aromatic profile improves considerably with more than an hour in the decanter. This blend has incredible poise with flavors of anise, creme de cassis, wild blackberry and hints of Black Forest cake and Mandarin orange rind. There is lovely range to this irresistible bottling. This displays slightly more structure than the impressive '09 bottling. There is almost a right bank, Bordelaise feel with the Merlot and lesser Cabernet components. Make sure to give this beauty at least a two hour decant to fully express itself. (Best 2016-2030) - May, 2016 (OB)
