The 2013 'Ardal' Ribera del Duero is a blend of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of smoked meats, pencil lead, pipe tobacco and black cherry compote instantly impress. Nicely balanced, with a medium weight frame, the palate is laced with flavors of black cherry, black olive tapenade, sweet tobacco and roasted dates.
