Founded in 1980, the Vina Pedrosa estate has 135 hectares that is set on chalk and clay sloped hills. The winery is perched on top of the hill just outside the village of Pedrosa de Duero. The 2012 Vina Pedrosa 'Reserva' is another gorgeous effort from this estate. This balanced bottling begins with aromas reminiscent of black cherry, white pepper, and red currant. There are flavors of red cherry, lavender, red currant and wild blackberry with strong suggestions of Mandarin orange rind. This is balanced and mineral driven wine, with a long finish. This Ribera can benefit from another year of bottle age for the fruit to further integrate. Give this at least an hour decant before enjoying. (Best 2017-2030) - April, 2016 (OB)
