This wine is a fascinating blend of 50% Garnacha, 35% Carinena, with the rest small portions ofTempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. It comes from vines ranging from 50-80 years old. There is a wonderful sense of terroir in this wine and a nice saline streak. The wine begins with aromas of red currant, provencale herbs, baking spices and blackberry. There is lithe minerality throughout with flavors of red raspberry, red cherry, blackberry preserves, Turkish coffee, pipe tobacco and blueberry. Wonderful combination of fruit weight and balance in this aged effort that will drink beautifully for another five years. (Best 2015-2020) - December, 2015 (OB)
