BODEGA LAN Rioja 'A Mano' 2014

The 'A Mano' is stunning Rioja from Bodega Lan composed of 80% Tempranillo, 12% Graciano and 8% Manzuelo that was hand-harvested from the Vina Lanciano estate. The wine was first aged for seven months in French oak and further aged for another six months in Russian oak. The wine needs more than an hour of air contact to fully unwind. Inky and bold, this begins with beautiful aromatics of black fruits, licorice and a touch of milk chocolate. The weight and power is absolutely outstanding as the silky tannins connect with dark fruit flavors and sterling minerality. While absolutely outstanding now, but try to allow this at least another year or two in bottle. (Best 2018-2030) - December, 2017 (OB)
