The 2007 'Imperial' Gran Reserva is a fantastic effort in this vintage. It is composed of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo and offers gorgeous aromas of dried blackberries and cherries along with floral, spices, leather, earthy minerals, and a touch of sweet oak, which all come together beautifully in the glass. On the palate this demonstrates remarkable balance with a wonderful refined texture as it heads into the long finish, which is marked by berry and spice notes. This is already quite appealing and should continue to evolve over the course of the next decade and even beyond. (Best 2016-2028) - November, 2016 (JD)
