The 2009 Solaia is composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Franc. As this begins to open it delivers aromas of crème de cassis, black cherry, sage and anise which all come together beautifully. On the palate this is full-bodied, structured and balanced with rich, concentrated flavors of red currants, crème de cassis, black olive purée and roasted prune, which carry on and on. The 2009 is another excellent release for one of Italy's most iconic wines. (Best 2016-2027) - January, 2016 (OB)
