The Sgarson Vineyard is located in the Campo Rotaliano and the vines which grow there are particularly vital and benefit from the cooler climate that distinguishes the site. Elisabetta Foradori's 2011 'Sgarzon' Teroldego is bold and racy, bursting with bright cherry, raspberry and cranberry fruit directly followed by fresh violets, lavender, smoke and crushed stones. This is well balanced with a focused beam of acidity cutting through the dense fruit, adding a gorgeous sense of overall freshness straight through the long, velvety and mouthwatering finish. This is a stunning, age-worthy Teroldego, but give it some time, will be at its best with some short term cellaring. (Best 2016-2027) - February, 2014 (JD)
