Cornelissen's 2020 Munjebel Rosso comes from vines that average 50 years in age. It is 100% Nerello Mascalese from a variety of different vineyard sites, Zottorinoto-Chiusa Spagnolo, Feudo di Mezzo-Porcaria, Rampante sottana, Crasà, Piano dei Daini. The wines opens up with a sexy bouquet. There are aromas of wild black cherry, sour cherry, plum, spice, mint, leather, smoke, and dark chocolate that burst from the glass. This is silky smooth, with lots of grippy tannins, supply acidity and freshness that all come together on the long finish. Fantastic today, and will gain complexity over the next 15 years. Amongst the best Rosso offerings ever from Frank Cornelissen.
