The 2003 La Spinetta Barolo Vürsù Vigneto Campè is a serious wine. Displaying a beautiful color followed by powerful aromas of wild strawberries, fresh roses, as well as vanilla, tobacco and earthy notes. This is a wine that is difficult so sip because the aromas are so intoxicating. Very complex with depth and focus, the fruit is absolutely pure. This young Barolo can be approachable now with about 1-2 hours of decanting, a few good years in the cellar is recommended. A memorable wine to say the least. (2011-2025) - March, 2008 (JD)
