Margheria comes from 50-year old vines in Serralunga d'Alba at an altitude of 370 meters above sea level. The high elevation results in a bright, racy style of Barolo with aromas of cherries and blackberries woven together with spices, eucalyptus, floral and crushed stones all taking shape. This is beautifully structured and remarkably balanced with lovely underlying acidity keeping it fresh and inviting through the long finish. Another complete success from this magical cru, which should continue to evolve for well over a decade. (Best 2019-2032) - May, 2017 (JD)
