The 2011 ‘Bricco Pernice’ Barolo is made from the finest vineyard in Novello in the most historic part of the Ravera cru, where one section consists of 20 years old, the other section is 65 years old. The wine itself is simply gorgeous offering fresh aromas of cherries and wild berries woven together with spices, mint, leather and minerals all taking shape in the glass. This is beautifully structured with fine tannins and incredible overall balance and precision. It continues displays remarkable vibrancy and purity of fruit all the way through the ultra-long finish. A wonderful effort from the vintage. (Best 2017-2032) - September, 2016 (JD)
