The 2011 Rocche dell'Annunziata Barolo is an absolutely sensational wine. It bursts open with gorgeous aromas of ripe strawberries and cherries woven together with smoke, floral, licorice and sweet spices which are all layered in the glass. This structured Barolo continues to impress with its overall balance, depth and focus. Its beautifully polished and finessed with a long, juicy finish. Simply put, the 2011 is an incredible wine from Pietro Ratti, which equals last years outstanding effort. While the Rocche dell'Annunziata is extremely appealing today, it should also continue to evolve gracefully for years to come. (Best 2016-2032) - May, 2015 (JD)
