The 2008 Parusso Barolo 'Mariondino’ is striking, expressing a wonderful ripe character and seductive aromas. The ripe strawberries and dark berries are layered with tar, flowers and exotic spices, which are almost impossible to stop smelling. This shows amazing balance and finesse, and the tannins are thoroughly polished as they burst onto the palate. The finish is juicy and long, leaving behind lovely fresh ripe fruits and spices. This is a serious value for Barolo fans, and another excellent ‘Mariondino’ from Parusso that is very approachable. (Best 2014-2026) - October, 2013 (JD)
