The 2014 Brunello di Montalcino is a total success story from Capanna, who produced an outstanding wine in this vintage. It immediately grabs your attention with its pretty aromas of cherries and dried red berries which are woven together with spices, smoke, dried herbs and dried flowers that coming together seamlessly the glass. On the palate this medium-bodied red is refined, silky and beautifully balanced, with lovey underlying acidity as it heads into the long, sleek finish. While this is showing fantastic already and should go on to offer a decade long drinking window for those willing to wait. Simply put, this is an absolutely brilliant wine from Capanna, especially considering the difficulties faced during the growing season.
