This wine was harvested from vineyards with an average age of 25 years and grown near the city Bad Dürkheim. The grapes were hand picked, picked by hand and then destemmed into open fermenters. It was then aged 12 months prior to bottling. This wine opens with aromas of red cherry, lavender, dill and raspberry. There are flavors of Bing cherry, pom-raspberry, and orange rind. A lean but tasty effort and a good value in the world of overpriced Pinots. There is a nice sense of place with this earthy Pinot. (Best 2015-2020) - November, 2015 (OB)
