The Goutorbe-Bouillot ‘Carte d'Or’ is beautiful champagne to say the least; it brings an elegant and classy style along with wonderful energy. The aromas of lemon oil, fresh pear, hazelnuts and hints of chalky minerals leap from the glass. It shows a pretty, fine texture with wonderful focus and a lovely vibrant character that finishes it out. Just a fantastic effort that is showing amazing right now. The blend of 60% Pinot Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay comes from an astonishing range of 20 vintages; 1980 to 2010. It spent 3 years on it lies and the dosage is 12g/L.
