The ‘Cuvèe Chaupin is a wonderful showing in this vintage. This beautifully concentrated wine slowly opens to aromatics of black raspberries, blueberries, and plums, which are woven together with sweet spices, smoke and violet accents. On the palate this is full-bodied, with a round velvety texture and a core of ripe red and blue fruits, accented by spice notes. This only begins to express itself beautifully with some air contact, and should continue to evolve over the next decade. (Best 2018-2029) - December, 2016 (JD)
