The 'Les Hesperides' is a blend of equal parts Grenache and Mourvèdre from the ‘Les Bédines’ lieu-dit. It possesses a dark, opaque color followed by gorgeous aromas of blackberries and dark plum woven together with spices, floral, dark chocolate, licorice, smoke and hints of dusty minerals all coming together beautifully in the glass. It continues to impress as it expands across the palate with excellent overall finesse and balance. Despite the difficult conditions faced in this vintage, winemaker Eric Bonnet was able to achieve remarkable concentration of ripe dark fruit combined with a wonderful freshness which carries on through the long, layered finish. This is a completely compelling effort, and a highlight in the vintage, a wine that should not to be missed. (Best 2016-2030) - October, 2015 (JD)
