The 2013 Doamine la Barroche is a fantastic showing, with expressive aromas of dark cherries and ripe black plums which are woven together with spices, pepper, dark chocolate and a wonderful savory character. On the palate this is rich and layered, backed by a beautiful velvety texture. It shows terrific richness and depth for the vintage, with excellent concentration of ripe fruits and spices lingering on the long, velvery finish. This Will be accessible upon release and should also evolve over the next decade. A stunning effort by winemaker Julien Barrot. The blend consists of 55% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre, 5% Cinsault and a few other rounding out the final percentage. (Best 2016-2026) - October, 2015 (JD)
