The 3013 'La Reserve' Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a remarkable showing in 2013. This blend of 70% Grenache, 30% Mourvédre displays a lovely dark color, with incredible aromatics consisting of blackberries and dark cherries along with crème de menthe, fresh lavender and hints of minerals. It possesses a medium to full-bodied with velvety tannins showing excellent nice length on the finish, leaving behind ripe red fruits and a blast of pepper. Although this is extreamly appealing today, it will need some short term cellaring before it shows its best. (Best 2017-2027) - October, 2015 (JD)
