The La Garde du Pape Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a lovely showing in 2013, delivering fresh clean aromas of blackberries and plum along with spices, lavender, wet stones, black olive and garrigue. On the palate this possesses a medium-full body with fine, silky tannins which leads to a lingering finish. Although this is already showing some nice characteristics, it will certainly benefit from a few more years of bottle age. (Best 2016-2026) - January, 2015 - (JD)
