DOMAINE GRAND VENEUR Châteauneuf-du-Pape 'Les Origines' 2011

A blend of 50% Grenache Noir, 30% Mourvèdre and 20% Syrah from the north of Châteauneuf du Pape. The soils are a mix of rocks and red clay. The Syrah and Mourvèdre are matured in oak and Grenache in vats. There are aromas of milk chocolate, raisin, earth, spice, raspberry and currant. Currently this is showing some alcohol on the back end, but should fade with some bottle age. Put this down for 2-3 years and enjoy over the next 10 years. (Best 2015-2024) - September, 2013 (MD)
