From race car driver to winemaker Dirk Vermeersch is now producing amazing wines in the Rhone Valley and his 2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape GT-1 made with 100% Grenache has the throttle wide open. If I were to compare this wine to a sports car, there is no doubt a Ferrari comes to mind. This wine is sleek, elegant and powerful with loads of blackberries, plums, Turkish coffee, floral and minerals. It's extremely well made with a "racy" core and fine tannins for support.
