JACQUES PUFFENEY Arbois ‘Cuvée Les Berangeres’ 2011

2013 Top 100 - Rank # 82

The 2011 Jacques Puffeney Trousseau ‘Les Berangeres’ is absolutely gorgeous, with lovely aromas and flavors of mixed red berries and bing cherries along with hints of crushed stones, earth and spices. It is elegant, clean and pure with wonderful balance and a delicate, silky texture that glides effortlessly into the mineral laced finish. This Trousseau comes from the villages of Montigny Les Arsures, which is considered the prime site for the Trousseau grape in the Jura. Overall this wine is so pretty and I strongly encourage readers who love Burgundy to explore the wines of Jacques Puffeney, who is recognized as a master among his colleagues in both the vineyards and in the cave earning him the nickname "the Pope of Arbois".
