The 2011 Domaine La Soumade brings aromas of blackberry, plums, spices, white pepper, iron, moist earth and lavender. It is medium-bodied and well structured, supported by firm, yet velvety tannins and a racy tannic core. Finish is long, leaving behind spices and black fruits. There is some nice potential here, but it still needs a bit more time in bottle to flesh out. (Best 2015-2023) - July, 2013 (JD)
