The blend for the ‘Reserve’ consists of 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon which undergo a more rigerous selection process and sourced from 55 year old vines planted in clay and limestone soils, on a plateau over-looking the Dordogne River. It brings pretty aromas of bright cherries, and blackberries, followed by notes of crushed stones, spice, spring flowers and a hint of tar which all come together beautifully. This is medium-bodied with a gorgeous fine silky texture and demonstrates nice overall balance and structure. This estate has been turning out some outstanding wines and excellent values, and this is certainly one not to be missed. (Best 2014-2018) - May, 2014 (JD)
