The 2015 Moelleux 1ère Trie 'Le Mont' is a simply fascinating wine from Domaine Huet. Ripe, elegant and remarkably complex, this displays a deep, golden color and opens with striking aromas of orange marmalade, fresh white peaches with a touch of pineapple and papaya which come together with honeysuckle, ginger, green tea, white florals and crushed stones all coming together to form the seductive nuances. On the palate this is rich and supple with lovely viscosity, yet is beautifully focused with sweetly ripened fruits, which are balanced by just enough acidity to keep it fresh as it expands seamlessly on to the long opulent finish, where it is touched by a hints of spicy floral notes. There are few words to describe this Chenin Blanc other than utterly delicious and it will be certain to have a graceful evolution for many years to come. (Best 2018-2038) - November, 2017 (JD)
