Initially opened with nice berry fruit, mushrooms, and forest floor with that hint of pine needles. There was a floral aroma of dried rose petals. After about an hour, the berry nose turned to darker berries. On the palate there was a core of that darker berry flavor. There were hints of spiciness. The wine had great depth and layers of flavors of earth and mushroom with some great acidity. Going back to the wine after about 2 hours, the flavors became a bit muted and the fruit exhibited more high toned berries. Drink now through 2015 - August, 2013 (JR)
