The 2010 Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie is an impressive wine from this storied estate in the Northern Rhône. Now at its nine year mark, the 2010 is begining to shape up nicely, as it immediately begins to seduce with its spellbinding aromas blackberries, blood orange, green olives, smoked meat, coffee grounds and lighter provencale herbs. The palate this is both textured and nicely lifted, as the wine is silky smooth throughout. It yeilds flavors of smoke, bacon fat, green olives and dark berries that connect with light tannins, which are begnining to integrate beautifully at this juncture. While this still needs some time, Jamet's Côte-Rôtie has a track record for aging remarkably well, and I would expect nothing less of the 2010, as it should continue to evolve marvelously over the next fifteen to twenty years.
