'Les Petits Monts' is a small Lieu-dit which is situated among some of Burgundy’s most famous Grand Cru vineyards, with Richebourg directly above and La Romanée just to the southeast. The 2013 Vosne-Romanée ‘Petits Monts’ from Olivier Chanzy is a completely compelling wine, which instantly dazzles with its wonderful purity and elegance. As it begins to open it releases striking aromas of red berries, black raspberry, exotic spices and floral, framed by an irresistible smoky character. This is a wine of remarkable finesse, balance and precision, with an absolutely gorgeous fine silky texture that impresses until the very end. Today, this is only offering only a hint of its full potential and should evolve gracefully for many years to come. (Best 2019-2030) - December, 2015 (JD)
