Michel Paquet's Santenay 1er Cru 'La Maladiere' is a gorgeous showing in this vintage. It begins to impress with inviting aromas of red cherries, strawberries, dried leaf and fresh floral accents all developing in the glass. On the palate, this dispays a medium body with a firm structure and supple acidity framing the finish. I expect this to hit its stride after a few years of bottle age and contnue to drink beautifully over the course of the next decade.
