The 2014 Domaine de l'Espigouette Vacqueyras is made from mostly Grenache, with some Syrah and Mourvèdre blended in. This instantly grabs your attentions with attractive aromas of blackberry, crushed stone, lavender, and dried herbs, along with hints of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and incense. On the palate this possesses a round, velvety texture, laced with bright red and black friuts, which continue to expand onto the finish. Overall, this is a lovely showing, and while this is already offering a complex range of flavors, it also shows the potential to continue to evolve over the next 7-10 years.
