The 2012 Vacqueyras Cuvée Réserve Vieilles Vignes is an excellent effort, offering intense aromas of ripe plums and raspberries followed by spices, pepper and crushed lavender notes. The velvety texture is balanced with no hard edges, ending with a peppery finish that lingers. This needs a bit more bottle age to flesh out before it will be at its best. The wine is composed of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. (Best 2015-2021) - June, 2014 (JD)
