A gorgeous wine, the 2017 Puligny-Montrachet by Francois Carillon opens with a beautiful bouquet of white flowers and crushed diatomaceous earth with shades of clove and Key lime zest that all mingle nicely in the glass. The verve and tension in the wine is gorgeous, as gobs of racy acidity greet you. Bright lemon rind, French baguette and underlying diatomaceous earth tones all collide on the palate. Highly gratifying in its youth, this beautiful wine has many years ahead of it.
